Luke Malan
Managing Director / CEO
Luke leads Aglantis with a clear focus on helping farmers save time, water, and labour through smart irrigation and precision farming solutions. He works directly with growers across Queensland to ensure technology is simple, reliable, and practical in the paddock.
With a background spanning sugar milling, civil engineering, and natural resource management, Luke has managed major reef investment programs worth more than $45M. He brings over a decade of experience improving farm practices in the Great Barrier Reef catchment and is committed to delivering solutions that balance productivity and sustainability.
Barry Cross
North Queensland Regional Officer
Barry is known across Ayr and beyond for his reliability, deep GPS-system expertise, and for being the kind of person you can always call for straight, practical advice. He works closely with farmers to integrate GPS, automation, and smart irrigation tools in ways that deliver real benefits in productivity and ease of operation.
With over 20 years in agtech focusing especially on tractor GPS systems, Barry is widely respected across Queensland for his technical knowledge, industry reputation, and consistency in getting solutions to work in the fieldt
Kaylaha Malaponte
Graduate Extension Officer
Kaylaha supports Burdekin farmers in adopting precision agriculture and irrigation technologies, bringing both practical support and a relatable perspective as a farmer’s daughter and Ayr local. She is also Aglantis’ Chief Remote Pilot, leading our drone operations and helping growers turn drone technology into practical tools for mapping, crop monitoring, and paddock scouting.
Known for her bubbly personality, curiosity, and attention to detail, Kaylaha makes new technology approachable and useful. She takes pride in helping growers get the best outcomes from precision tools without overcomplicating things, and is quickly carving out her place as part of the next generation of agtech specialists in North Queensland
Aravindan Madasamy
Hardware Lead
Aravindan heads the hardware development of Aglantis’ smart irrigation system, creating compact, reliable units designed to withstand tough Australian farming conditions.
His work ensures farmers can depend on automation that is both practical and robust. With a joint degree in electrical and IoT engineering, Aravindan specialises in developing innovative hardware that connects seamlessly with software and sensors. His leadership ensures the backbone of Aglantis’ system is world-class while staying simple for growers to use.
Kamyar Karimi
Software Lead
Kamyar leads the software development behind Aglantis’ smart irrigation system, designing AI-driven platforms that help farmers save water, reduce labour, and manage irrigation with greater confidence. His focus is on making technology seamless and practical, so growers get real value in the field.
He holds a degree in mechanical engineering and a master’s in artificial intelligence, bringing together engineering design and advanced data expertise. Kamyar’s unique blend of skills ensures Aglantis’ software is both cutting-edge and grounded in the realities of farm operations.
Paul Malan
Civil Operations Manager
Paul oversees Aglantis’ civil operations, ensuring projects are delivered reliably and to a high standard. He works with farmers and industry partners to implement large-scale solutions that improve land and water management while supporting sustainable farming outcomes.
With over 30 years in civil engineering and two decades in project management, Paul has successfully delivered infrastructure projects worth up to $60M in both South Africa and Australia. His leadership brings proven engineering experience and operational strength to the team.
Carl Malan
AgTech Officer
Carl works directly with growers to make precision agriculture practical and easy to adopt on the ground. He regularly supports farmers with GPS setup, automation, and smart irrigation tools, showing how even small changes can deliver real improvements in efficiency and profitability.
Carl is closely involved in field demonstrations and technology trials, helping bridge the gap between advanced systems and everyday farm use. His hands-on approach and clear communication make him a trusted guide for growers looking to get more value from agtech without the complexity
